Book Review: Sunshine, with a Chance of Snow by Carole Matthews

SunshineWithchanceofSnowWhat’s it about?

Beth and Michael have worked hard all their married life to give their children everything they want. It hasn’t been easy but it’s been worth it.

Now, as Beth enjoys quality time with her family on their beach holiday, she knows she has a lot to be thankful for.

But it’s not until she’s faced with her biggest challenge yet that Beth really begins to understand how lucky she is.

My thoughts

I’d previously read Carole Matthews With Love at Christmas but I hadn’t read anything about this and if I’m being totally honest I just downloaded this short story because it was free.

Having only read one other of Carole Matthews’ novels, I thought it was all going to be all light, fluffy and lovey dovey which this was a little but also had a totally unexpected twist with the second half having a more serious subject matter.

It took less than half an hour to read but I came away from it thinking sometimes we don’t appreciate just how lucky we are and recognise what is important in life.

This is a really touching short story which is certainly worth a look over a cuppa and cake!
