This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It’s open to all to participate. Why not join in and let us know what you’re reading this week…
To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
I’m currently reading…
This is quite different to my usual type of read but I am enjoying it. I’m about 50% through and I feel that the ship has this cult community developing and I have no idea where it’s heading….
The blurb
WELCOME TO LONDON
BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Oxford Street burned for three weeks. The British Museum is occupied by ragtag survivors. The Regent’s Park camps have been bombed. The Nazareth Act has come into force. If you can’t produce your identity card, you don’t exist.
Lalla, sixteen, has grown up sheltered from the new reality by her visionary father, Michael Paul. But now the chaos has reached their doorstep. Michael has promised to save them. His escape route is a ship big enough to save five hundred people. But only the worthy will be chosen.
Once on board, as day follows identical day, Lalla’s unease grows. Where are they going? What does her father really want?
WHAT IS THE PRICE OF SALVATION?
I recently finished reading…
I felt that the majority of this book lived up to the hype despite being quite slow in places however I was a little dissatisfied with the ending; it didn’t ring right for me but the on the whole delivers.
The blurb
When an intriguing novel appears on Catherine’s bedside table, she curls up in bed and begins to read.
But as she turns the pages she is sickened to realize the story will reveal her darkest secret.
A secret she thought no one else knew…
What’s up next?
My next read will be picked from my TBR jar as part of #PaperbackSummer
What are you all reading this week?
I was a huge fan of Disclaimer, even the ending which I did work for me. I like the sound of The Ship so I’ll look out for your review of this. Here is my Wednesday post https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/06/03/this-week-in-books-june-3/

The Ship is an interesting and very different read to what I’m used too. Thanks for stopping by Cleo 🙂

So would you say Disclaimer is worth it, but wait and get it from the library rather than investing in my own copy? (that’s usually the test for me – the difference between a 3/4 star and a 5 star book!).

Worth the read but I would say don’t spend a tenner on a hardback, get a library copy or wait for the paperback!

‘The Ship’ sounds really interesting. Something on the back of the latest dystopian trend but with a cool origin story concept. I’m intrigued. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday! Don’t forget to add your link for others to come exploring. 🙂

It’s definitely that and quite out of my comfort zone. It’s managed to hold my interest so far so just hoping the ending doesn’t disappoint.
Thanks for stopping by Sam 🙂
